EleCare or Alimentum? That is a big question that often faced by many parents. Having our child get sick from consuming cow milk formulas is very heart-breaking. Then, we should retreat with Hypoallergenic formulas, but there are way too many brands of such product out there. Perhaps, your relatives or neighbours are advising either EleCare or Alimentum. Which one is better? (Take a look : Similac Alimentum Vs Gerber Soothe)
The allergic reaction that your child develops against cow milk formulas is caused by his or her inability to take complex, long chain of protein molecules. To counter the issue, many companies start manufacturing Hypoallergenic formulas, which are milk formulas containing protein molecules that have been ruptured into smaller pieces. EleCare and Similac Expert Care Alimentum are very different in this regard, since EleCare is amino acid-based while Similac Expert Care Alimentum is protein hydrolysate-based.
The substances of EleCare are much simpler than of Alimentum. In Alimentum, the protein molecules are cut into tinier parts, but they are basically still protein. Meanwhile, in EleCare, the protein molecules are broken down into the smallest compounds named amino acids. Therefore, EleCare is less likely to cause any allergy, and the company has stated as well that the product virtually eliminates the potential of an allergic reaction. Alimentum works for most babies, is able to provide relief from protein allergy within 24 hours in the effective cases, but still retains some degree of allergy potency. Both products, like most infant milk formulas nowadays, are enhanced with DHA and ARA.

Conclusion
Worth our knowledge, EleCare is quite more expensive than Alimentum. Hence, you should consult your doctor first. Alimentum is a decent start because it is quite effective for treating protein allergy on babies. Why spend so much on EleCare if Alimentum suits your child? But, if your child still develops harmful response even with Alimentum, you must change with EleCare.
